These days in Kollywood everyone speaks about Dasavatharam. Dasavatharam is the latest Tamil movie which is screened all over the world. This movie is financially powered to make sure that it’ll be the block buster of the year 2008. Special note about this movie is, Kamal Hasan is acting in 10 different roles, and so far none of other Indian actors tried this.

Film is starting with an event occurred in South India in 12th century, that is during Chola dynasty. Neither Islam nor Christianity entered into India that time. Only Hinduism dominated all over India. Since they don’t have a common enemy they started to fight within them self. Kamal acts as an energetic youth who challenge the religious view of the King, Kulotunga Chola. Read more

Tom Cruise at the 61st Academy Awards 1989Image via Wikipedia

I don’t know why I missed this movie for this much of time. This movie suppose to be one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life. Usually I like the movie of Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise. I was there with high expectations and I was granted what I was expecting.
Movie starts with a narration…

No one would have believed in the early years of the 21st century that our world was being watched by intelligences greater than our own; that as men busied themselves about their various concerns, *they* observed and studied, the way a man with a microscope might scrutinize the creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water…

Story is simple. Alien war machines invade earth. Cruise’s family is fighting for survival along with other families. Cruise takes his son and daughter through tough road and he tries to save his family. In their way they encounter different type of people, aliens, alien machines etc. Finally he reunites with his family.

The acting is extremely good, and the idea of showing the film from the perspective of Cruise’s character – so the audience knows nothing that he doesn’t know – works extremely well. The complicated son – father relationship was also well elaborated. One of the best Sci-fi movies I have ever seen!

BEOWULF – Review

March 17, 2008 · Filed Under Entertainment, Hollywood, Movies · 2 Comments

Yesterday I was watching this movie and after first two minutes I realized that I was watching a animation movie. Wow.. Wow.. Wow.. What an imagination? They have created new dimension for the Animation movies.

Story is all about Demons and a mighty hero who was concurred that demon. You can find almost all the basic elements of an English movie in this film such as a beautiful monster, ugly monster, and beautiful girls, stunning fights!!! Etc.

In the beginning story is full of action but in the end, it’s very sentimental and it’s trying to show the guilty conscious of the King who concurred the monster. They say what goes around comes around!, as it says King finally accept the reality and pay the price for his self-importance and impatient for power.

I think it’s a good food for those who love animation movies, and it’ll be a fantastic adventure story for kids. Though it may attract kids, there are some scenes that may disturb kids. It’s rated as PG 13 in USA.

All in all, it brought me a nice movie experience. Hope you’ll have the same experience with this film!!!
