What Lee Kuan Yew said was:

“When 1 went to Colombo for the first time in 1956 it was a better city than Singapore because Singapore had three and a half years of Japanese occupation and Colombo was the centre or HQ of Mountbatten’s Southeast Asia command.”

We had two state universities that upto the 1960’s maybe even 1970 were world class. Politicisation was what ruined them.

I have no objections to private universities but regulation is a must. There are many so called foreign universities peddling MBA’s that are not worth the paper they are printed on (I have coached a few students who were folowing these courses and in my opinion, at least a couple of these MBA’s are rubbish).
