‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ leaked online

April 3, 2009 · Filed Under Entertainment, Hollywood · Comment

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” isn’t due in theaters until next month, but the prequel has already hacked its way online.

A high-quality, full-length work print of the 20th Century Fox film appeared online Tuesday evening. The studio said it had the file removed, but copies quickly propagated and continue to appear on several file-sharing Web sites.

The movie focuses on the beginnings of Hugh Jackman’s clawed Marvel superhero Wolverine and is set for a May 1 release.

Fox vowed in a statement Wednesday that the source of the “stolen, incomplete and early version” of the movie would be prosecuted and said the FBI and MPAA are investigating. The studio also insisted that the version of the film posted online was “was without many effects, had missing and unedited scenes and temporary sound and music.”

Pineapple Express (2008) Review

March 27, 2009 · Filed Under Hollywood, Movies · Comment

After a long time I watched a nice comedy movie “Pineapple Express”. Movie is about a Dale Denton (Seth Rogan) who works as a slaker and enjoys marijuana. There are even more funny trivia about him such as he got a girl friend from high school and he scared to meet her parents.

This story is about how his addiction to Marijuana leads into hell of problem. One day he waits outside a client’s house and witness a murder done by a lady cop and a local criminal Ted Jones (Gary Cole). As he sits in his car, smoking some Pineapple Express, he

witnesses Ted and a corrupt policewoman, Carol (Rosie Perez), kill an Asian man. Panicking, Dale leaves his roach at the scene and smashes into parked cars as he drives away. Ted finds the roach and recognizes the marijuana as Pineapple Express. Dale goes back to Saul’s (local drug dealer who sold new kind of drug pineapple express to Denton) pad, realizing that the marijuana could be traced back to him.

Story goes on as Saul and Denton chased by Ted and bad cop lady.

After a long time I enjoyed a nice comedy movie. Though I call it a comedy movie, it’s full of violence. Especially the final scenes, where Saul and Denton breaks into Ted’s store. If you have time give it a shot. Worth watching.

Phantom of the Opera – Rock Version

March 14, 2009 · Filed Under Entertainment, Hollywood, Video Post · Comment

This the version I have seen in the movie and yet my favorite too. Today in YouTube I found this rock version. I don’t mind listening to this. Look at the faces of the audience.

It seems that guy is a professional rock singer and that lady must be professional opera singer!!!

Excerpt from Wikipedia about the band NighWish

An enduring favorite of fans, though, is the band’s version of “The Phantom of the Opera”, from the famous musical of the same name by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The song was repeatedly played on concerts until vocalist Tarja Turunen was replaced with Anette Olzon, whereupon the band announced that they would never play the song live again

After the recording in the Hartwall Areena (Helsinki) on October 21, 2005, of the new live DVD End of an Era (released June 2006), the four other members of Nightwish decided that it was best to continue Nightwish without Tarja Turunen, a feeling they expressed through an open letter which was given to Turunen by Tuomas Holopainen after the concert, and afterwards posted on the band’s website. It was written by Holopainen but signed by the other band members. The main justification given in the letter for Turunen’s dismissal was that the band felt that both her husband Marcelo Cabuli (an Argentine businessman) and commercial interests had changed her attitude towards the band.

Turunen responded to the incident twice, during a press conference in Finland and in Germany, saying that her dismissal came entirely as a shock to her, given that she had not been notified before the letter was given to her. She felt that the personal attacks on her husband were unwarranted, and that playing the issue out in public was “senselessly cruel”. She expressed these feelings through her own open letter, which was published on her personal website, and through various TV, magazine, and newspaper interviews.

Since then, Turunen has focused on her own solo career, however she is still often covering Nightwish songs on live concerts.
