Upgrading to WordPress 2.5.1

April 26, 2008 · Filed Under Uncategorized

WordPress announced about their new WordPress version 2.5.1 release. Finally I manage to upgrade the WordPress manually for the first time. I followed the tips given by Ravi, as I was lazy enough to follow WordPress’s detail upgrading guide.

  • First download the latest version
  • Extract it
  • Delete the WP-Content folder
  • upload it to your WordPress blog directory
  • Run WordPress Upgrade at http://yourblog.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php

that’s it, it worked like magic.

WARNING:
When uploading the contents of the downloaded WordPress files, make sure you upload the contents but not the renamed directory. If you rename your directory to the blog’s directory name in the server it’ll over write important files such as config.php.

Got no problem in upgrading. Thanks Mr. WordPress, you’re the best~!

Now, if only all plugins with “check_admin_referrer” weren’t STILL broken, I would be extremely pleased with WP 2.5.x

    @ Daniel Costalis
I got no issues as I was not using such plugins!
