Dialog unveils the revolutionary iPhone 3G to Sri Lanka
I just can’t believe this, Dialog has introduced Iphone 3G to Sri Lankan market. I think Dialog has started its offensive against Airtel.
iPhone 3G
Unit price is 89,000 LKR with one year warranty. If you can’t pay the money at a time, you can go for easy payment scheme. It’ll be around 7,416 LKR per month.
Dialog also offers iPhone Finger Tips Guide as PDF which you can download from dialog.lk.

Steve Jobs said that the iPhone will be sole in almost all the countries at 199/299 USD with plans. Would be great if Dialog also can do something similar with a plan.

I don’t think Dialog is a release partner of Apple for the launch of the iPhone 3G in SL. Hence the reason for the lack of a package plan and the ridiculous 89k price tag. If they were, Apple would update their site showing the SL flag and the partner. This is most probably unofficial sales from Dialog. I’m guessing they’re importing the sim-free version of the iPhone 3G from HK, where you can get it legit. Costs around 75k LKR over there, so add the profit, shipping, etc. and you have an 89k LKR iPhone 3G in SL. IMO they’re getting a little bit desperate about AirTel in SL.

You can buy iphone 3GS 16gb for $ 650.00 unlock version in USA. It is still expensive in Dubai and other countries. US is the cheapest and check on ebay and decide it is worth to buy from Sri Lanka
I’m using Iphone 4 latest one in the world, micro sim, their is no point having any iphone phone in sri lanka, because that technology doesn’t exists in sl.
