Dialog Sucks My Life

December 29, 2008 · Filed Under Mobile, Sri Lanka

Dialog customer care used to be the best customer care in whole Sri Lanka, but today I don’t think they’re no longer entitled to receive any Best Customer Care Support award.

As I have reached 5GB limit in my mobile broad band speed of the dongle has gone down. I went to Dialog Arcade in Bamba near British Council. Today there is a huge crowd and people are rushing in like nothing, may be because of Holiday offers and all.

I’ve been sitting in the bench and wasted more than 30 minutes, and then a guy called me to his counter. I told him my problem and I asked him to restore the speed back for my data connection. That guy went inside and returned after a while and told me “Sir, I can’t get your request as the relevant manager who should approve this request is on annual leave. If you insist I can get the request but it may take around 1 week to process the request”

I was asking “You’re a telecommunication company even though you can’t get the request and transfer to another arcade or something, huh?”

“Sorry sir, I can’t do that”.

WHAT THE FUCK!!!!

Felt like scolding that guy but realized no point of scolding him. The problem is with the top management who has arranged this kind of rigid procedures. They must be having a back-up plan. The manager who went on a annual leave didn’t arranged any back up plan to run the operation while going on a leave.

For god sake, I’m tired of Dialog! If I have a better option around me, then nothing will stop me from switching away from Dialog products.

It’s usually just one form to get the FUP extended. Try the Arena arcade, it’s sometimes less busy, though Bamba should be able to do it.

Can you mail me the data connection number and your details to indrajit.samarajiva AT dialog.lk and I’ll try to get you an appointment at an arcade that will just do it.

I walked in and filled out the form a month ago and it was pretty painless, sorry that you got passed around. Not having Internet sucks

    @indi
Thankz a lot. Just got it done by sending a fax with my NIC copy.

I have done it previously, its painless and an easy process. Why I’m pissed is, bcz of one manager whole lot of customer can’t do anything in bamba arcade, which is ridiculous.

    Thankz a lot once again.

It is pointless to talk about dialog.

I disconnected my GSM 2 months ago. Since then I have recived 2 bills. How can you get billed for a disconnected line?

When I call them, the helpless Customer care tells you all kind of things, but never understand the issue. The last reply from accounts was there is a problem with their billing!

I am a dialog user. But for internet, I am using Telecom ADSL unlimited package. Download @ 50 kbps is very much enough for me. I only got very few issues with ADSL in my past year. Recently it was started to disconnect several times within an hour. I have complained about this and few days later we found it is not ADSL issue, but an issue in the phone line – underground. However I had to complain 2-3 times, and it drag up to one week to solve the issue. But the most valuable point is how SLT react for the problem. They immediately sent us to check ADSL on my first complain, of course they didn’t found any issue. Then they sent another group upon my second complains. Finally they sent another group far away from my area. Somehow finally they did it. I don’t think companies like Dialog will have that sort of service. As I see dialog is very much irresponsible. My friend told me that their office dialog package is always breaking down!
